Suspension Problem/problem with something...
K so I bought this carn and have been driving it around for a while. Well everytime you acclerate even kinda hard the back end wants to shift to the left and then when you let off it wants to shift back to the right. YOu can only feel this when teh car is in gear and your accelerating. If im just cruising or the car is not in gear you dont feel this. I got the car aligned teh day after I got it thinking that would solve the problem. It didnt. It made it less annoying and less noticeable but its still there. Everything with teh alignment is within spec and nothing was out of order toe wise, camber wise, or caster wise (front or back). Im thinking something is bent under the car. But i threw it up on a lift at the shop and everything looks good under it. Im seriously confused here. Has anyone else had this problem? Or can anybody tell me the first places to look?
I know for a fact that the "pull" coming from the back of the car though since itll want to push the rear tires left when you accelerate and then shift back to the right when you let off. I almost killed my self today going in a strait line with MINOR acceleration in first and second. I shifted into second and the car literaly just took the **** off into a 50mph spin in the middle of a 4 lane road. Luckily there was nobody around at the time seeing as I spun 360deg's not once but THREE times
. Also, Luckily, I was able to save the car from hitting any curbs somehow (which is good seeng as Ive had the car for about 4 days now lol). Having said that...the S is on time out until I can figure out what the **** is going on! PS the car is bone stock.

Yes in the middle of the road with n o warning. I mean I could understand if I was turning or something lol. But Im driving in a strait line and this happens! I litraly didnt even turn the wheel. It was just strait and I was on smooth level road! The car drives perfectly strait until you actually wanna give it some gas. Then you can feel it sorta shift to the left until you let off and then it goes back to the right when you let off. Its not a crazy pull though. Its really suttle. But obviously this car tried to kill me. So it now sits under a car cover until I figure out what the hell is causing this. I really wanna drive the car hard but I cant
Im familiar with RWD. Anyone driving any car would be able to tell its not supposed to pull to one side with teh wheel strait. The car is a 2001 with Fusion ZRi's I think. I have no idea how many miles are on the tires. They got a good ammount of tread though. Im in NC...
Do S2000's have anything in the suspension setup that goes bad alot? or wears out over time for the 2001's? Like I said everything on teh car looks great from under it. But somethings not right. I havent really had time to REALLY check the car over as its been raining and cold here since I got the car.

Ckit, I understand your trying to help. But your preaching to the Choir when it comes to that summer tire stuff brother. Ive been around cars my whole life. Ive swapped engines and damn near every other part on a car
. What im trying to find out though is if there is any suspension part on these cars that is known to wear out and cause a problem like this? It would save me having to go over everything.
Honestly I hate people who make thread like this lol cause its one of those thread where the poster is really the only one who can help his/her self cause nobody else can see the car. But I figured Id see if there was any known to wear suspension stuff or any things I should look for that might be the culprit before looking at the car (when its sunny). To be real I havent even checked the tire pressure on this car lol. Its been to cold and to wet to do any of that. Ill check it tomorow. But im pretty sure its good (they check it when they do alignments at the shop). Plus with tire pressure Ive never known it to make the car pull only under acceleration with unbalanced pressure. Its normally an all the time pull if you know what I mean. I REALLY wanna drive the living shit out of the car and see what it can do. But if I cant even drive it in a strait line safely then I cant do much
It would be great if it was just the tires. But I doubt that.

A) Yes, 8 year old suspension should go in the trash in my book, but that's not to say it's still not usable on the street.
B)50MPH in 2nd gear is something like 8000RPMS so when you say MILD acceleration, what do you really mean. Kinda hard to help you when it doesnt seem like the whole story is there

^^^your post was a great help!!! From reading your "B" I can see that your one of those people who likes to argue the points that have no point. Would you A. look at your speedo while your doing an unplanned 360deg spin on a public road? Or would you B. worry about not hitting the two curbs that are on either side of you with your car coming up on the left one FAST??
If your not here to help please dont post. Thanks.

If you are here to be a dick please don't post. Obviously by your own account you were doing 50MPH in 2nd, I'm just saying that's not mild accel.. you have other contributing factors to your spinout that you are neglecting to take into consideration. also consider the fact that when I step on my gas pedal my car doesn't spin out, so I must have some good advice for you. Go spin your car out into a ditch please so that way you just get it over with.
