OP, on one hand, your words and your attitude suggest you know a great deal about cars (and driving), but on the other hand, the fact that you never checked your tire pressure suggests otherwise. Be aware S2000s are VERY sensitive to tire pressure variations.

That being said, you didn't ask for us to try and explain what could have happened to you. So, to answer your question: no, there are no common suspension problems with the S2000.

Has the car ever been in a crash?

Carpeted- Did a carfax and the car hasnt been in any crashes. THe carfax is clear. But the car was owned by a 60year old lady. So I suspect that maybe she ran something over or did something a 60year old lady would do with a car this low stock. Ya know?

And it is kinda wierd that I havent touched anything on the car yet. Not even tire pressure. But ive been so busy with work and other stuff that I havent had time plus with it raining and being cold as shit the whole time ive had it. That hasnt helped either. Im the type guy that if I have a new part for the car or some maintenance to do to the car it gets done asap. Especially go fast parts. But Ive got an AEM CAI sitting in the trunk that I havent even had a chance to put on yet ive been so busy! Gotta love mandatory job training that takes up all of my time! Anyway thanks for the strait up answer. Now its onto trying to find this damn bushing thats bad or whatever the hell is killing me.

STD- Again, thanks for another great and helpful post!

Tire pressures. Have you checked them yet? I had the exact same issue on my car (pull in one direction on hard accel and the other direction on brake) when I bought it and it nearly killed me too, except I didn't spin, I went tokyo drift style through a busy high street intersection and was lucky I was able to collect it. Not fun.

Anyway, it was my tire pressures.

I had the exact same issue witht he pulling, no spin though. Tire pressures are usually the key. If the tire pressure is the same, then look at the tires. See if they are all the same brand/model. Sometimes people get a flat and replace one and not the other. That can really throw off stuff also. I would be sure that is all OK before you even touch the suspension.

By the way this info is all over this board. Stories like yours are common place here. Search a little next time and you will get your answers. You also may get some nicer responses.

The fusion tires have bad traction in the summer and they are summer tires. I had them and in the summer when it was wet they would spin in 2nd very easily. In cold weather it would be worse and then even worse than that in the cold and wet. If you had incorrect tire pressures or a problem with the diff or LSD it could cause this but in my experience even if everything is correct when a car looses traction in a straight line it tends to step out to the same side most of the time.

Hope some of this helps. Those tires were on my car when I purchased it and had almost full tread and ended up lasting about 15,000 miles. I ended up buying Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 225 f/255 R and have a hard time breaking traction on the new tires.

OP - before you start bashing people here, moderators and scca points champions nonetheless, please take a look at the basic stuff first. For all I know you've been driving in ALMS since you were 8 years old, or you may be yet another one of these kids that knows all about engines and fwd drag racing and doesn't know how to handle a sensitive rwd car like the S2000 - it is not uncommon here. That's why we ask for basic information first. Unbalanced tire pressures, and 8000 rpm, in the cold and wet (all things you stated) can very well lead to a spin. Once we can rule out the basic and very common stuff, then we can move on from there. But with your attitude, I doubt too many knowledgeable people would want to help anyway.

and teh <> the.

^^^your post was a great help!!! From reading your "B" I can see that your one of those people who likes to argue the points that have no point. Would you A. look at your speedo while your doing an unplanned 360deg spin on a public road? Or would you B. worry about not hitting the two curbs that are on either side of you with your car coming up on the left one FAST??

If your not here to help please dont post. Thanks.
Isterdcollen making valid points, so to you I just wanna give this picture and encourage you to go and spin the car again. Try a 1440, they are cool.

Ok, a little less cynicism this time. Have some respect for the other members on the forum here. They're trying to help you out and you're giving them crap.

1. Check your tire pressures no matter what the conditions are outside. It doesn't take that much time out of your day. 1-3 minutes.
2. No, the S shouldn't spin that wildly (1080 is a bit excessive unless it's extremely wet and you were at speed with junky tires).
3. Take it to a mechanic if the problem is really this severe.
