? For Suzuka Blue Owners
Have any of you noticed that the factory paint which covers the "stoneguard" sealant on the underside of your S is a lighter shade of Suzuka Blue? If you haven't noticed try putting a light near the underside of your S at night. Especially under the doors and front fenders.
The reason why I ask is becuase I had some body repairs at the end of '03 due to an accident. I had the left front fender replaced /painted along with a Mugen SS bumper painted/installed. They repainted the right fender also. I was really satisfied w/ the paint matching then but I have noticed some things since.
I noticed that the underside of the newly painted fenders is the matched the same as the rest of the car but the rest of the underside is the lighter shade of blue. Is this just a case of new paint vs. factory paint, color fade, or just bad color matching?

Mine looks like it is the same color, although the paint on the underside is less glossy than the top-side paint. Do you think the difference in appearance might simply be a smoother surface and more thorough clear-coat coverage on the surfaces that were meant to show?

You guys bring up some good points that I hadn't really thought of. I also remember talking to a tech at the bodyshop I took my S to and he told me that SBM paint formula has been revised more than a few times since Honda released it in '02 I don't know it this would have anything to do with it though. :shrugs:
I still challenge the '02 owners to look at their cars under a light at nighttime and I'm sure you'll see the difference.
