Default Is swapping cluster as simple as plug and play ?

I've done alot of searching and I still didn't get a definate answer.
The old cluster works fine but has a small crack and lots of scratches.
I found another and is it as simple as taking the old one out and plugging the new one in ??
I have a 2001 and the other one is from a 2003 so they are both AP1.

I don't know if its that simple but I do know that mileage is stored in the cluster.

I'm going to answer my own question.
YES, its as simple as plug and play.
Took me about an hr but if I had to do it again, probably 20 mins.
I follow this DIY.
