Well, I picked up my spa yellow 2001 (#710) last night and I don't think I've stopped smiling yet. I got to talk to another S2k owner last night and he must have said "you are going to love this car" about a dozen times. I haven't gotten to drive it much yet, only about 40 miles but even in that short amount of time I'm definitely in love

That is wonderful! The sighting of the 2001 S2K is approaching the east coast! Let's see if Chicago has the yellow S2K to nights ago, man, mine should be here in less a week! Rick, I think that would be the same situation for you too. Woohoo... Gotta get a driving class (learn stick) in before then.

 

Hey, all you guys/gals out there that have to wait for an S2K, I can't imagine how tough that's gotta be. When I bought mine, I was lucky and found one right off the bat. I made the deal on the car and picked it up a few days later (it was in another state). Even those few days were enough to drive me batty. When I'm in a great mood, I talk to my wife a lot, and boy, DID I TALK A LOT on the way to get the car! I still remember the chill I got when I first got behind the wheel of that car. As I grew up, I always admired people who owned cars like that but never in my wildest dreams thought I'd own one one day. But to sit behind that wheel and drive that car out of the lot knowing it was MINE, BABY, ALLLLLL MINE was almost as big a moment as when I said, "I do".

The first few weeks of driving were reserved due to break in, but now, I can drive it any way I want. And the more I drive it, the more I love it. On the days when weather doesn't permit me to drive, I don't talk to my wife much!
