I think you guys are mis-understanding my original post. I'm asking if 25k moles is too late to switch from conventional to synthetic.

Why would 25k or any other lower/higher milage have anything to do with weather you begin using a synthetic.?
There are high milage formulations if it made you feel better but I hardly consider 25,000 to be high milage.

Change is good. It's never too late to switch from dino to synth.

You can change to and from synthetic whenever you want. I put synthetic into my car when I bought it with 44,000 miles. I changed it every 8,000 to 10,000 miles when I was N/A.

Now I change it around 1,500 miles because I'm turbo'd and overcautious

This post is kinda funny. Everyone is misinterpreting the OP's post.

For some clarification from the OP's question, our cars are recommended to switch from conventional oil to synthetic around 12-15k. Now the OP wants to know is it too late if he decides to switch from conventional to synthetic at 25K? Will there be any problems waiting till 25k to switch? If I understood it correctly, I believe that is exactly what he is saying.

Now, I would believe it depends how you drive. If your a spirited driver, I would say switch to the recommended time. If your a granny driver, waiting till 25k shouldn't be problem. IMO, the early stages of the car is the most critical time to treat it.

Yes, switching to synthetic earlier is "optimal" but there is nothing wrong with switching later. Synthetic oil is better oil.

We know. It's fine. He can switch regardless of how he drives or what he uses for an oil change interval.

?? I heard somewhere that synthetic oil can be dangerous in our cars because they rev so high and the oil can solidify somehow..? Is there any truth behind this ??

you could change it to amsoil and change it every 10,000 miles.

i wouldn't though... I wouldn't even bother with the synthetic unless you're FI.
