Has anybody had the unfortunate experience of having to repair a S2000 after an accident? I was T-boned on the driver's side and this pushed my right front into a parked van. Plenty of body damage and some bend in the unibody front. Besides the obvious I'm concerned about two things: 1) problems associated with straightening out the frame, both now and in the future (transimssion, uneven tire ware, etc)
2) loss of value due to the accident

Anybody with a similar experience care to share some advise or provide some insight?

I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune. I can't relate too much with regards to frame damage, but my S2K has been hit twice. In both instances, they were able to bring it back to showroom condition but I didn't have frame damage in either accident. Good luck getting it fixed. I hope it turns out perfect.

Resale value will go down due to a major accident such as this. Of course if it's disclosed and/or incurs some sort of salvage title due to the accident.

Sorry to hear about your accident, I always have a hard time believing a vehicle is just as good as new visibly and mechanically after such an accident. It may very well be so but there's always something in the back of my mine that tells me otherwise.

Good luck

Man that fvcking sucks!

Are you positive that the frame is bent? "most" accidents I have read about in the s2k the frame was a straight as the day it came from the show room. Including when mine got hit and did about $7000 in damage to the rear and rear quarter.

And I have to ask, do you have any pics? I am always interested in how the s2k holds up under different impacts.

I agree that it sucks and then some, I really wish that I had taken the Expedition instead. I took a video of the damage and I will pull out a few frames of the impacted areas and I will post them.

If we could get a few comments from Body Werks as he is a body repair shop and successfully resurrected Scarlet I after some frontal frame damage.

Ouch! Sorry to hear your story. Has your claims adjuster seen the car yet? Sounds like there may be enough damage to declare it a total loss and replace it with a new one. That's what I would hope for.

If you can get the insurance to tell you whether it's fixable or not, I'd ship it to Larry at Body Werks in Skokie. I've seen his work, and if anything ever happens to mine, that's what I'm doing...
