Yes it was and is painful to look at my crunched S2000, as I had grown quite attached to it over the past twelve months. I still get angery, at the driver of the other car for the damage that they caused by driving carelessly.

At first blush the damage is $7K, but that estimate was from a walk-around inspection.
I am waiting on the body shop's more detailed report, since they can lift it and take a look at the suspension, underbody, etc. The shop is estimating another 4 weeks for repair due to the lead time on parts. January is going to be a long month.

I feel for you man. I'm surprised the airbags did not deploy!

s2k-nc, I also live in the Raleigh area and my silver S2K was damaged 1 week into ownership by an idiot on Highway 54. They backed into me at a stop light. While my damage was no where near as profound as yours, I still had to have my front bumper replaced and paint matched (among other things). I took a long time finding a body shop to do the work, and found one that was GREAT! They came recomended by my Honda Mechanic, and more than one Porsche dealership: Kenny Hawkins Automotive, Inc. 919-851-0242. They did a wonderful job repairing my S2K. The paint match is perfect, just perfect. I previously had my M3 worked on at a Wake Forest shop and they could never match my paint (after more than two attempts ). Please e-mail me and I'll fill you in, and if you'd like you can come and check out the work on my car in person

You may be able to get some good technical information. There are three Honda service manuals and one covers specifically bodywork. Look in the back of your owners manual for the three available service manuals......Sorry about your ride!

Hey all!

Sorry to hear about the accident.

A couple of comments.

1) the S2K does not have a frame, it is all unibody. From looking at your damage it looks that you have minor structure damage to the inner fender structure rail.

2) If you want to ship your car to Chicago, I have fenders, Headlights, and doors in stock. (I am the local Honda dealerships Body Shop)

3) side damage is always the hardest to repair, make sure you find a good shop to do the work
