Default t1r test pipe question

i had a t1r catback but sold the exhaust. now i currently have the stock exhaust on with the resenator removed but wanted to run the stock exhaust with the t1r test pipe. can i expect gains from this mod even with the stock exhaust? and will the exhaust sound change in anyway?

It will be a bit louder and you will get about 1 to 3 HP gain. You will have to run some kind of o2 cheater to keep the CEL light from coming on

If you are lucky and the gods are with you and you dyno before it gets much warmer you may see 5 HP. Spoon says 5 HP. with theres. I think the one you have is as good.

do a search on the mecanical o2 sensor mod to get around the CEL.

When you think about our cars, lets say 250 for an intake to get 5hp, 800 for an exhaust to get 5-10 and 1000 for a header to get 7-10hp, $100 for a testpipe that will yeild you 3-5hp is not that bad in cost compared to other mods.

It will be more than 1-3 whp. I have dynoed a lot of S2000 with test pipes alone and its about 4-5whp.

dont forget a test pipe lowers your engine temps too if you do any kind of track days...i plan on going that route until the T1R dual comes out

heres the mechanical link...
