Tach & Speedometer
I know it's blasphemy, but has anyone seen an S2000 with an aftermarket dash that included an analog tach & speedometer? I'm thinking about getting an S at the end of the year - can't quite decide if I'll save some money and get a 2000, or opt for a 2002 so that I can have the glass rear window.
They're clearly one of the best 'driver focused' cars that you can buy for the dough, but I can't STAND that tach! Has anyone seen an aftermarket dash that was done well?
Thanks!

look around for the Stack gauge cluster that can be retrofitted in to any car. Its an expensive system but you def. get what you pay for. FWIW: unless its a full track car... you dont need it.

I love the digi-tach. It is one of my favorite features. It is so easy to read at a glance, fairly rare, makes the car even more unique. I can't figure out why people don't like it.
I'm sure I'll grow to like it too. It's just that my initial reaction is "BLECHHHH!" I'm a huge fan of analog tachs that have 0 at the 6 o'clock position like an RSX, or a 360 CS. Just the thought of that needle swinging all the way around to 9000 makes me want to buy one TODAY.
I test drove one 2 weeks ago for the first time - 2001 Berlina Black with a Neuspeed exhaust, AEM air filter, 18's and what felt like some insanely stiff springs. I needed to see for myself what all this complaining was about - I've heard a lot of gripes about the engine being it's greatest feature, and it's Achilles heel. Having had 2 turbos (MR2 & 300ZXTT), I don't agree. You just have to always be aware of the revs, and keep the motor just barely "off boil" so you can reach the power in an instant.
I will definitely get one. Can't afford a 360 Spyder. Can't afford an NSX. S2000 it is then.

Tach doesnt bother me as much as the speedo. That thing is too slow. I prefer analog becuase you can see how fast the speedo sweeps.
But the digital speedo is nice when you're at steady speeds. Easier to glance down and see how fast you're going.

The S2000 might have a tach made up of lights instead of a needle, but it truly has an analog tach.
