Default Tachometer Defect

On the way home this afternoon, I noticed a small area at the rightmost end of the tachometer that had begun to turn yellow. It was irregular shaped and continued to grow with time. Here's a poorly focused photo of it. Has anyone else seen anything like this? It looks like the tachometer has lines on it that are made to go transparent as the RPMs increase revealing the yellow light underneath. What seems to be happening is that this surface is eroding and letting the yellow show through.

Must be spending too much time between 8 and 9k rpms -wearing it out

Seriously, that is odd.

Never seen anything like that.

If anything - it's just telling where you've been most of the time

The LCD must have cracked and the substrate leaked onto a contact. Can anyone say Warrantee repair?

I think to fix it you need redline in reverse for several miles. Good luck.

Now, you wil be able to warp through time as soon as you are in the upper limits of Vtec land. Consider yourself one of the few and the lucky ...

Never seen that before. It's definitely a defect in the LED. Better take it in and get it repaired. Have you ever hit that part of the dash with anything?

I would love to see a clear pic of that...

I've never spent any real time looking at the display in detail, but I think everything is a backlit LCD. LEDs don't leak, and from the looks of it, the display took a sharp blow and you blew the confines of a few bars.
