djvtecs2k: I think you're talking about the wrong bulb. The turn signal light is an 1156A; it's the same as a standard 1156 bulb which has a regular bayonet type base. The "A" denotes that the glass is Amber colored. When signalling, the light shines amber through the frosted lens. The backup light is mounted directly below the turn signal light. It's a type 7440 and has a wedge base and made of clear glass. Is this the one you say has "weird studs" on the base? If so, you've picked the wrong bulb!
So......if you want to change your AMBER turn signal bulbs from amber to red, you have 2 choices: you can replace them with red LED bulbs or red bayont bulbs. For LED ones, you'll need the AUT1156-0ER-014V here: http://netdisty.net/ds/aut1157/ For incandescent ones, you'll need something like this: http://www.nextcollection.com/html/ORD-Lig...g-3686-none.cfm
(BTW. Last week, I ordered yellow 24xLED bulbs for the turn signals, and red 12xLED bulbs for the stop/brake lights. If they fit O.K., I'll be postinig pics showing the differences.)
