Default tailgating

Im sure most people on this board have been tailgated in their s2k at some point. I keep reading posts where people say they just downshift and take off. Am i the only one who slows down to about 10 under when being tailgated?

I usually take-off. When they finally catch up, I usually notice that they no longer tail gate or they simply move over.

Assuming you're referring to the interstate, if you're in the left lane and holding someone else up, then you need to get out of the way. Either move to the right lane or speed up, but get out of the way. The Germans have this down to an art and driving over there was a blast.

If it's a situation where I can't let someone by, then I just go on about my business and ignore 'em. Life is too short and people are too crazy these days to try to prove a point.

Just my .02.

Im usually the one doing the tailgating. But I make it a policy to only tailgate in the left lane on the interstate.

I really haven't been "tailgated" very much. That's probably because I have a lead foot anyway. I usaully try and keep a "2 second" space between me and the car in front. If I can't - it's time to find an opening and pass - and if you VTEC it around them - well its just sooooooo pleasurable to see the look on their face in your rearview mirror.

If I'm in the fast lane, I'll move over. If I'm in any other lane, I'll first let off the gas to get them to go around. if they insist on being an a-hole, I'll brake check them hard.

Just use the windshield wipers w/ suds. It never fails to work. As the water either streams off your car and onto theirs, or if your going fast enough it will jet out and hit him directly. Either way you win twice. Clean winshield and no dumbass on yours. Hehehe.

Its also innocent enough. "Oh sorry, I was just cleaning my windshield" Oops. Hehehehehe. Since its not blatent like hitting the brakes or intentionally slowing down - which can serve to provoke as much as keep people off you.

Try it

hitting brakes in the overtake/passing (left lane) is a HUGE no-no. if you can move over, then do so!
