I was tailgated by a 1988 BMW 325 last night. He wanted to race so bad. He was switching lanes trying to get ahead of me in traffic. I stayed calm and when the traffic oppened up I ran him down. I know he felt like a POS.

I tend to stay on the lane second closes to the left. I don't like staying in the "fast lane" but if I'm in a rush I will not be in anyone way they will probably be in my way.

I just got my S recently and I immediately noticed people on city streets, not freeways tailgate me like crazy. It's like they think I must be a racer if I have a yellow sports car. I'm still in the break-in mileage, and I'm taking it easy. There's nowhere to go to let them pass and I'm probably always a little above the speed limit.

One additional observation: It seems to mostly be guys in big SUVs like Expeditions and Suburbans. Bigger vehicle, bigger jerk??

if I'm in the fast lane.. I'll let them pass... shame on me for not seeing them sooner...

If I'm somewhere else on the road... they can move, and if they can't go around me, they shouldn't be on my ass. Usually I'll shift down a gear and start a slow decrease.

Let it be noted that one time there was a guy on my ass sooooo tight.....

when the CHP behind him turned on his lights... I thought they were less than 2 cars back. CHP pulled him over... I hope he got a ticket.

I find in about 80% of the cases of road rage going on... it's the person that was in the wrong that gets their panties in a bunch... ie.. they'll cut you off... you go around them... and they high beam you trying to instigate shit. And since I know that... it doesn't get a rise out of me...
they'll be driving slow and doing some other shit while driving... looking around lost or soemthing so I'll give them a honk... they'll flip me off... they obviously have a problem, they don't need me making any more for them... they have my pity.

oh.. and BTW... tailgating and drafting are different and only defined by safety... I don't tailgate... I draft
