That is the sweetness.

Kind of bittersweet though because it sounds like there was a BS call by the officials...

It is kinda BS when the mazda driver even said that he didn't pass under yellow. Also really sucks that the # 22 rolled. Anyhow, congrats to the # 8!!!!

To prepare the S2000s for 25 hours of racing, modifications focused primarily on enhanced safety and durability. A roll cage, fire extinguisher system, lightweight competition seat and 5-point racing harness protect the driver, while heavy-duty brake pads, brake lines and shock absorbers beefed up the chassis to handle a day's worth of nonstop competition.

Street-legal racing-compound BF Goodrich G-Force R1 tires round out the performance tweaks, ensuring that the S2000 CRs have plenty of traction around Thunderhill Park's three miles and 15 turns of winding asphalt. The stock interior is largely untouched, and with the exception of the substitutions outlined above, so are most components of the engine, transmission, exhaust, brakes and suspension.
so... roll cage, seats, shocks, brakes and R-compounds.

Not bad. So that thing ran a cat on the track too!

Nice article. Glad to see they're putting the CR to good use and had a great race! Respect to the Mazdaspeed Miata's, too.
