Call me a newb, fag, tard. Whatever, i don't really car lol..

but my question is, why do people put painters tape over the headlights when they're racing,autox etc., the same reason for when you're doing a long drive to a car show or whatever and put it where rocks would chip paint? if so, why not cover the whole headlight?? thanks guys/girls
