You are correct. @Billman250 asks that you let him know if your S2000 has any modifications (e.g., supercharger, turbocharger, aftermarket camshafts, or a thinner/thicker head gasket); your engine oil's weight also plays a role.

I have 1 Toda V2 TCT in-stock. I use this on both of my S2000s.

I heard some guys had some noise after replacing it with the Billman a ones
Heard where? There are nearly 20 years of posts here and lots of out dated information from earlier years is still here.

I'm a believer in preventive maintenance especially since our cars have been out of production for 10 years. I installed the Billman TCT in 10 minutes four years ago at about 40,000 miles.

I wouldn't touch the ebay tct with a ten foot pole as my Dad always use to say. To reaffirm what some others stated, saving $100-$200 now is not worth risking such an integral part to the safe mechanical functioning of the motor which will cost you several thousands and lots of headbanging frustration. Some ebay stuff is fine, when its not going to kill you or a major drivetrain component if it malfunctions.

I also run a Billman TCT, and wouldn't use anything else.

Aftermarket, JDM and ricer-brand ones, and also OEM ones, make noise again after 10-30k miles. Previous owner of my Ap1 replaced with a brand new OEM, and started ticking again after I bought the car. Replaced with Billman TCT, and it's been running super smooth and quiet ever since.

I have the balladesports TCT with 0 issues my car runs great. Just saying could be installer error. Not that a TCT is hard to do. Make sure you torque it back on correct Lube it up with oil. I also did the cam gear to fix the slack issue that some motors have:I didn't need it but one less thing to worry about.
Again no issues for me
