Geez,
I guess I am so stupid I thought anyone could reply. You don't need to make a thread for aging S2000 owners. We old farts already have our own Forum on S2ki, called the Vintage Owners Forum, under Special Interest. As we old fogeys welcome the younin's in, I thought we were allowed out in S2000 talk as well. I'll just go back to my rocker on the porch now.
as in any situation, if i were to ask a question, i would like an answer, not responses that ahve nothing to do with my question.

by all means if u were able to answer his question post away, but if ur just gonna be a jackarse and talk about how he's to youn get another car, well theres just no reason for that.

im 18 years old, i had 2 sports cars, i got the same responses from both forums, its sh*t you have to deal with but being here for almost 2 years i was hoping this kinda crap would have died down like it did for me on rx7club.com

i have nothing against older owners at all, its just that it seems you look down on the younger owners. im sorry that my parents had the money to buy me this car. im sorry my parents had the money to my buy sister a 04 is300. but im sure if you all were in me or my sisters position you would not have turned it down.

i would not have objected if you posted, "go for it, but jsut be careful this car can bite you in the ass"

everyone and anyone has a potential to screw up in this car, old or young, experience or not sh*t happens that can jsut royaly screw you.

i look at the S as the same level of performace as the Box S if not even more hardcore. Unless you can pick up a Porsche or Ferrari after you get rid of the S, i wouldnt get it. Almost everything you drive next will be a step downward.

You know the age old cliche, "Good things come to those who wait" well its very true. If you start out with the best, then you dont truly appreciate what you have becasue you havent experienced anything else.
If the S is more hardcore than a Porsche Boxster S, Why would you want to get rid of it If the S is sooo nice, I would NOT consider it a step downward. I don't have nice things like your parents do, therefore, the S for me is the the top of the totem poll.

When I was your age, I drove a piece of shit Maveric (Ford I think), speak for yourself when you say I wouldn't appreciate something like a S2000. That is a bunch of BULL!!!

The reason you don't appreciate nice things is because they were handed to you on a silver platter. Myself on the other hand, have been working and on my own since I was 15 years old.

i started with a rx7
i loved that machine and respected every single bit of it, and cherished that fact that i had it.
when i moved onto the s2k, i missed the rx7 to death
but i learned to love the s2k and i respect and cherish it as well.
from here on im only going to go up on the automotive echelon, and don't worry i wont be taking any of these for granted.

but seriously this thread needs to be MURDERED!
beating a dead horse here

RACER, i think you misunderstood my post.
I did say the S as more hardcore than the Boxster. And do you think i dont realize the Porsche was given to me on a silver platter? Thats exactly my point, i dont want another kid to take a great car for granted. Thats great if you think you can appreciate the car alot when you were his age but thats a real bunch of bull when you have never really driven anything else and have had nothing to compare to. Remember, we're talking about his first car for christ sake. And you ask, why would you get rid of it? well then what do you suppose the kid does, keep it it forever? By getting rid of it, i mean, what car would he get next. And be honest now, how many cars can live up to the S?

who the hell are u to say that he shouldn't get a car because he will take it for granted, if u were lucky enough to have a boxster you should be saying "hey, you know what if ur lucky enough like me to have a great car for ur first, jump on that chance"

"And be honest now, how many cars can live up to the S?"

the s2000 is not god
do you know what god is to me?
PORSCHE GT3
ENZO
NSX
M3
Z06
those are gods to me
there are a f*ck load of cars that are better than the s.
