Tein RS vs. Flex
Hey,
I just recently purchased a '04 S2k and the first thing on my to-do list is upgraded suspension. I've narrowed my options down to the Tein RS and the Flex, but I need some opinions before I make any purchases. My car will be a daily driver and a weekend track car, I want suspension that can handle well both on the street and track, but nothing too jaw jarring. Are these two coilovers worth the money? Or are there different coilovers that I could look into? Suggestions, personal opinions, and experiences are welcome. Thanks.

there are a bunch of different options you can go with.... people that track their car a lot like to go with kg/mm springs and koni shocks...these springs are very stiff.... also a lot of people are starting to get buddy club coilovers and supposidly they do rather well at the track... now as far as the teins go... the rs is better then the flex.. but the flex has the edfc....
i have the flex on my car and i love it... the car can be slammed to the ground and the edfc is great... being able to adjust the dampening force from the inside of the car at any given time is the greatest thing ever..

i have the flex and love it as well.....i'am a daily driver and you really cant beat the set up for the price.... (save your money on the edfc just my .2 ) unless you like playing with gagets!!

The Flex are designed more for street applications.
I personally have Buddy Clubs and love them. I'd say only half of my driving is done on the street - the rest is all track/autox. The BC's are perfect for me.

between the rs and flex.. rs is the better choice for both street and track use, it was designed with the idea that the track would be used..
flex is a great street suspension because of its edfc.. but rs is a more "solid" choice for track use

The RS suspenion lets you adjust Bound and Rebound, which allows you to fine tune your suspension. This probably proves to allow a lot more adjustment at the track. The Flex on the other hand, is a more street focused suspension kit. It's a very neutral kit. It's not very hard, or soft. The Flex also supports the EDFC. Which to most, myself included, think it's a suspension marvel that can be had for a low low cost. All that being said, I'm very into racing, so I spend a lot of time in the Race and Competion forum. Which if you were to ask this question there, they would suggest staying with the stock suspension or fessing up, $3,000+ for JRZ's, Penske's,
Moton's, Ohlins etc.
My choice, I plan to get Flex with EDFC, I drive my car everyday and need the FLEXibility. Someday when the car is purely a track bitch, Motons' will be placed in all 4 corners.
