A good, fairly balanced artilce.
I am curious about one thing.
How come this 2002 S2K has a 9.1 cubic foot trunk and mine is about half that? Am I missing something or did he swap the spec's of the Boxster here?

He must have included the secret compartment in his measurement!
what i do wish is that honda had added the feature of toggling amongst the trip odos and the clock. i like the clean look of the dash with the stereo concealed, but i am a busy person with a busy life and i need to constantly keep track of time. besides, i think a clock is more useful than a trip odo most of the time.
"The S2000 hasn't been crash-tested..."
Huh?? ALL passenger cars sold in the U.S. must be crash-tested! In fact, the results (highest or 2nd-highest possible in all categories) are readily available. Maybe he needs those displayed on the dash too.

The radio channel displayed in the dash? That's a good thing for the septuagenarians who drive Mercedes, but pretty gauche in a car meant to be driven hard.
I have it good authority that Merecedes will soon be offering a dash board warning light that tells the driver when she should have her next dose of Geritol
.

For the record, I don't like the gear indicator idea because:
1. adds to cost
2. clutters the gauge cluster
3. distraction to techometer and digital speedometer
4. duplicated information

Since I'm already whining, I would like a clock and thermometer in the display.

I could argue all of the above, but I won't.

Me too. I've never heard of getting "too much information".
I'd like a volt gauge, a real oil pressure gauge and a real temperature gauge to go along with the above and the gear indicator. (Digital or analog, either would be fine.)
I like information.
