Test drove the 04 and 02 S2000....
I'm in the middle of my search for a S2000:
I drove a 2002 Formula Red S2000 and the a 2004 Grand Prix White S2000.
The 04 had a noticeable torque difference, but the car didn't seem like a raw car- a little more tame than the previous years.
The 02 had everything I wanted in a car- pure sports car feel.
I didn't want a formula red S2000, therefore now I'm in the search for used S2000 Pre-04. I guess you really have to drive them to see which one is better.

I agree man, I test drove an '04 and an '03... I like the '03 better.
Then again, the '04 had 50 miles on it, wheras the '03 had 14500... so it could just be that.
Engine sounded better on the '03 also.
I'm lookin for one! Getting really anxious...

Here we go again... Another '04 vs. '00-'03 thread.......
Honestly, i originally wanted a pre '04, because I always wanted the 9K redline, but it just did not suit my needs, because I refuse to buy a used car.....
Financially, did not want to buy a leftover ;03, due to the depreciation impact, and I could not justify taking that hit, just for an "older" model....
Overall, i am very content with the '04, especially the styling, and the feel.... I can live without the 1K less redline, because both cars are equally fun to drive.. Keep in mind, I admire the close ration shifting, and the jump in VTEC.......
Plus, hey, I like to get what's new.... I leased the '04, but am looking to buy a '02-'03, because deals can be had on those..
Hopefully, I will have the best of both worlds in the near future!!!!
Once again, they are both amazing cars.... Well, they are the same cars, just one's more refined than the other...
Nothing to argue over.....
