i have an 02 as well and like riley, love the rattly,harsh, loud, love it or hate-ness of the AP1. its a pure sports car. with tuning i have cured the low-end lack of the ap1 and still have the screaming top end. fun as hell.

i do know that one day the ap1 will need to go away so i WILL be buying an AP2. i plan on just putting in a 00' ecu in an 05 and reving it to 8.5k and then doing some vafc tuning and making a lowed/top beast. I LOVE THE AP2 LOOKS AND SUSPENSION, but saidly i am one of the few that think that F20 is FAR better motor than the F22. JDM ap2 would be the perfect car for me.

rawness = less refined

ap2 = more refined

ap1 & ap2 = any way you look at it

I can honestly say I like both. And while I have yet to drive an AP2, I see plusses and minuses to each edition.

At the end of the day, though, I love my AP1 because it's an '00... and everyone knows that these are the true rulers of the S2000 kingdom.

The best year S2000 is the one you own!!

I can see why some might upgrade after several years, but as long as my (or your) S is running great, why bother?

yea as mentioned above- i talk smcak about how great ap1's are- but seeing how my car is my daily driver- if i wrecked mine you bet your ass i would be in an ap2. couldnt bring myself to trade mine in though- it would have to be a catastrophic event for me to get rid of the ap1

Hmmm, I feel robbed when I'm below 6k in an ap1. Guess it all evens out in the end
That's what gears are for
