Test Pipe?
Shoot, Assassin, your the one with the simple thread title of "Test Pipe?, Should I? Do you?". Effects on the car, simple: You lose a little weight, you gain a little power, it smells a little funky (more so to those behind you) and you get more shit at the exhaust tips and on the bumper. What's to discuss there?
You opened yourself up to all the commentary with the "Should I?" part but you would have gotten the commentary anyway.
I was actually mostly curious about how much power removing the cat would produce on the S2000. Like I said in a previous post I've seen as much as 19hp increase, and that was on an NA car. If it only makes 2-3hp then that's not enough for me to bother with right now. If it had made 8-10hp then I might have decided otherwise. For now I've decided to wait atleast until I get a titanium exhaust so that I get full weight and flow benefits.

Another random thought, The biggest band-for-buck upgrade is gears, not test-pipe. If you're looking for a cheap upgrade that is.
I know the OP has only been on the board for 5 days, but a little searching would have shown that this type of post is trolling.

Man we should make all the nascar drivers print out why the like their cars, and how they dont use cats, and then make all the drivers read it at the cup race 5 years from now!
If your so pro enviorment, why are you driving the s2k, and not a egg (prius)

They are complete morons.Didn't I say I WASN'T "so pro-environment?" I could care less about fuel economy as I drive very little overall, as I rely on public transportation for my daily commute. That's even BETTER than a prius.
Just because worse things are happening, doesn't make it open season for everyone to simply make things worse. That's the lamest excuse for doing something I have ever heard.
Don't forget F1 is going green. According to this article (http://www.evworld.com/article.cfm?storyid=1046), their next engine specs will require a certain percentage of biofuel to be used. Also they are allowing 20kg for a "surge power unit" that could be feed via regenerative braking. Combined with lower displacement engines and rpm caps but more energetic cellulosic fuel, some speculate that the 2012 F1 cars might even be faster than current 2007 cars on slow road courses like Monaco while using half the fuel.
So if F1 is going green, shouldn't we be trying? Didn't we buy the S2K cuz it was the closest thing to an F1 car out there for the money? We certainly weren't trying to buy a NASCAR clone.

I'm looking at my 233.7 HP dyno right now. I posted it on this site back in January. That's with a 70mm dual, TP, and drop-in filter. So...
NOBODY who has used a TP will say it didn't make power. NOBODY who has taken off a cat and looked at the end will claim it isn't the biggest bottleneck in your exhaust system. It's a freaking block of honeycomb that air has to force its way through.
If you're going to argue people shouldn't remove their cats, argue it on principle and not lies about the amount of power it makes. With a stock exhaust, you're going to see a few HP. With any type of free-flowing exhaust, you'll see a lot more. Period.
The judgement call about ethics is on you, but it's absoultely the cheapest HP you'll get. Who is talking about gears here? Those cost $700+ installed for most people, once you include labor and the yellow box. Why compare things that are 7x more expensive?
