Default Test Pipe...

I've had my Invidia V3 for about a month now and could never really feel any sort of power gains. Just yesterday I paired it with the Berk TP... and now the car feels like it has all kinds of mid-range power?! I never figured that I'd feel more of a difference from a little 18" tube than replacing the entire stock exhaust system. Do dyno results tend to show this same thing, am I a unique example, or is it somehow all in my head?

Both a testpipe and an exhaust system are supporting mods meaning by themselves they don't gain much. However, put them together and you gain a nice amount of hp / tq.

I gained 14.5hp and 10tq by adding my testpipe onto my invidia catback (I have the dyno for proof).

I also felt an increase of power when I installed the berk tp on my existing 60rs

Spec_ops,

First I wanted to say thanks for the great Invidia videos you produced. It really helped me in my decision to get the Invidia. I am considering the test pipe now. I am just wondering if you have trouble with smells in traffic or notice a considerable ammount of carbon on the rear bumper with the TP? thanks

This is what your exhaust flow looks like through a CAT...highflow is relative

Spec Ops, what are your other mods? Did you really gain 14.5 HP on the same dyno you did your baseline on? I'd like to think I just gained that much power from those mods.

I'm glad they helped you

As far as smell, it reall depends which way the wind is blowing if your at a dead stop. Usually I'll get a wiff of it but thats about it. Never has it been choaking nor have I ever recieved a headache due to the CO levels as some have claimed. Unless your backing up, you'll probably not notice it at all. Plus for 100 dollars, if its displeasing to you, sell it. You'll make most your money back with a very small loss.

As far as carbon build up goes. I'll have to clay bar my bumper maybe once every 2 - 3 months (which I would do anyway) to get rid of the yellowing that very slowly builds up (as stated takes about 2-3 months to get somewhat noticable).

When I first installed my invidia I had a K&N FIPK with it. The car was then dynoed. Then I installed my testpipe (invidia catback and FIPK were still on the car) and finally dynoed the car with a +14.5 hp and +~10tq (I forget the tq number off hand exactly). Same dyno, same operator, dyno was not changed in anyway.
