IIRC the Berk TP was redesigned to eliminate the issues.

Question is, how does this smell affect people's health?
The smell, per se, does not really affect your health. However, the cat does burn up a lot of compounds that are known as HAPs (Hazardous Air Pollutants). Benzine, formaldehyde, etc. http://www.epa.gov/ttn/atw/188polls.html

So yes, you are increasing your risk of cancer (and also the risk of cancer to other people around you). How much are you increasing it? I don't know. Not nearly as much as smoking, I'm sure. Maybe as much as "second hand smoke" though. A lot of these compounds are the same as you would get in cigarette smoke.

How about people running TP in California, isn't there like a $3,000 fine or something ridiculous like that?

It stank up the garage and anything in the trunk. Also you could really smell it at stoplights.

Whoever said something to the effect of "you'll hardly notice it," is on crack.

I just, JUST put my test pipe/Invidia on three days ago after 4 mos on stock exhaust/cat and I barely even smell it - and only at lights.

It might be stronger with FI, but on my N/A car - otherwise stock - its barely noticable. Thats not to say what Im throwing out the pipes isn't harmful or foul - but 1 Prius driver makes up for that.

All kidding aside, I could smell it maybe once or twice, and not in the garage or trunk. Guess Im cracked out too then...
