Default Test Pipe without CEL on MY06

heres the original thread i posted in the jdm forum, but i thought it would be better suited here..

i just want to know if it's possible to make a test pipe work on an 06 without throwing a code. i was originally interested in getting a t1r 70r, but if it's going to throw a cel even with the cel fix i guess i'll just get a berk tp and find a catback. let me know. thanks.

I read about running a testpipe would trigger the CEL on here a couple of days ago. They suggested that you space the O2 censor farther out and it would solve that issue. Use the Search button for more info. These topics were discussed on here before. Good luck.

i think the issue is that on the 06 and up the CEL fix does not work very well.
you might want to look into the comptech electronic 02 simulator.
that might work better then just a spacer in your test pipe

On the 06-up DBW cars, there is no mechanical fix that is reliable. The DBW cars have even tighter control and monitoring of the emmsions systems.

Nothing is 100% effective (even the stock cat will throw a P0420 CEL from time to time), but the only thing that gets you higher flow and an "almost" guarantee of no CEL, is a high flow cat.
