Thank you Dad.
I'd like to thank the MSF (motorcycle safety foundation) for teaching me how to drive a vehicle with manual transmission.
I'd like to thank S2ki for enlightening me to concepts such as heel-toeing and rev-matching.
I was able to teach my Dad a few of these things at the Dragon.
I guess things get passed both ways...

Me... my dad taught me in his beloved...mid-engine american made..pontiac Fiero. It was a hoot to drive. It would stall, grind...very temperamental. Then I heard that they were getting caught on fire while driving... oh! Snap!
Oh well...it served its purpose...now I am my own man, and while either listening to classical music, reggeaton, salsa, rock, alternative....I shift...and I shift....based on my mood, based on the day...top down...top up....the beach...the babes....
Excellent...pure bliss...

A friend of mine taught me how to ride a motorcycle... then one time the parents went out of town and I decided to sneak their car out for a joyride while they were gone. So I applied the same principles that I had learned with the bike, to the car.
i learned on a 97 saleen lol. I bought the car and was expecting my dad to teach me how to drive the car... but nope. he lied. he didn't know how to drive it heh. Ended up teaching myself and only stalled once.

My mom has been claiming to know how to drive stick for a while. It's been 20 years+ since she drove it last. She can claim to be a Nascar driver if she wants and I won't prove her wrong. No way she's driving my car
Thanks to my dad for teaching me to drive a stick.....no thanks to him for making me do it in a '70 VW Bus with a horrible 2nd gear (grinds every time unless it's double clutched).
Thanks to my '95 Civic DX for showing me what a stick shift can actually resemble.

here. Learned to drive stick on a 73 VW bug. ex-hubby taught me. Taught my son (hubby and I thought it was for the good of the family
) to drive stick on a Renault Wagon.
Driving a stick is like riding a bike, you really don't forget. It's good for everyone to have the knowledge. You never know when someone might need to drive a
home.
yea straight up thank god to my grandfather who let me borrow his 1989 chevy berretta GT v6 to learn stick on!!! damn was that crazy...it was too much torque for a first stick car...lol don't ask the car was falling apart and would randomly pop out of gear while you were driving down the street...roflmao...
but hey...he let me borrow it...taught me how to drive it..and i've loved manual ever since.
