11am on a Saturday morning, northbound on LaBrea, crossing Hollywood Boulevard. I stop at a red light, and I'm playing air guitar to a Galactic Cowboys song. I look up and there's a bus full of tourists looking down at me. Yes, I felt like I was on stage.

I was heading back to Los Angeles from out east in the desert. It was about 5:30 am and the sun was just coming up as I snaked my way up from the desert floor in to the mountains. Beautiful road with absolutely no one else on it. Had the top down. When I finally hit the summit, the huge sandy boulders had turned in to alpine forest and I had big long straight ahead of me with no one in sight. Punched it up to about 110. Absolutely Beautiful

At 4:00 am I get up and go for a jog before sunrise, then get home and shower. When I leave for work I put the top down at 6:00 am and all my senses are razor sharp, everyone else on the road is going in slow motion. I'm fired up, with a superb sports car and an endorphin buzz.
