Smile theft

hey everybody, i'm a proud but sad owner of an s2k that was just the victim of the strangest theft... my seats, steering wheel, and digital tach were all stolen from my car seriously, who does crap like that? well anyway the bastards cut all my wiring harnesses and i've got no steering wheel so can anyone give me any advice on replacement parts such as wire harnesses for the tachometer and legally purchasing tachometers.

Damn man, that's a bad bit of luck there.. Those doods must of really known what they were doing to nab all of that stuff without getting caught. I believe when purchasing a new gauge cluster your miles just start back to zero, unless they have some way of programming the mileage in.. .even then how do they know your being honest.. I don't think it's really a legal matter honestly.. just as long as your not setting the mileage back yourself, which isn't probable with our cars.. Hah

Your best bet would probably be going through your insurance. If you can get a check from them, you may be able to buy the stuff yourself and save some money and be able to pocket the extra. Insurance is the best bet though. You have a very expensive fix ahead of you. Good luck.

My bet is he's in SoFla. It's rediculously common down there. I would never own an s2k anywhere south of the 1-4 corridor unless I could always park it in a garage at night.

i'd place a bet on that its some kid that owns a civic... probably more insterested in the the digital guages on the cluster more than the milage thats on there. it fits perfectly, the S steering fits on the civic, i've seen it (with a rick's s badge too), and so do the seats. so thats my bet.

Its stupid ricers trying to retrofit our parts into their Civics, Integras, etc.

Get a fat check and buy this amongst the other parts you'll need:

Defi Super Sport cluster.

Let us know how it goes with the insurance/odometer thing.

That's a bunch of horse crap, but it's not uncommon in Florida, that's for sure. Keep an eye on ebay and your local craigslist and you'll probably see all of your stuff within a few weeks.

Sorry about your loss. Definitely go through your insurance with this one. This is one loss you don't want to take care of yourself. Also, find out how they will be able to determine your mileage with the new cluster you get. That itself might become an issue since the ECU does not record your mileage. Anyways, good luck with the fix and keep us updated.
