Is there anything to do to help the top up blind spot?

Lean forward and look over your left shoulder. Works every time.

Here is my thread on the Convex mirror with pics. I love it!

You can't spot cops in it, but when you glance at the mirror, you can see the rear of a car in the mirror, and the front in your peripheral vision!

Convex LH mirror definite MUST have

You really don't need the Convex mirror on the left you just need to move closer to that mirror before you go left. When you move closer to the mirror you actually increase your field of vision. When you ride a motorcycle you learn to be dependent on your mirrors and this is a trick riders know about. The mirrors on my bike are about 1/3 the size of the S2000 but I can see very well out of them. The problem is the right mirror because it's farther away. I agree with wicky and adjusted my mirrors wider away from the body. You just have to learn to use the mirrors for side view and not for rear view. This should help you know what is around you better.

"Hail Mary" before changing lanes?

For the taller among us, I had written a FAQ on how to easily modify the left mirror so it could be angled out farther (on all my mid-engine cars I like the mirror out wider as they have far worse blindspots).

So simply check the faq! (I simply replaced the two inner screws with longer and used washers as spacers.) Had it that way for over two years now with no blind spot.

(Those "tacky" stick-ons not only are ugly, but are another mirror to check--I don't want an extra step!)

This is why you look at the convex mirror first. Why would you need to look
elsewhere?

I am another believer of the Muz Convex Driver's side mirror. I can see everything I need to and then some, and the adjustment period was no more than the first day. Makes it so much easier to drive top up if you really have to.

Also, before I got my Muz convex mirror, I had to lean all the way forward almost to the steering wheel and look back. That was dangerous, especially in heavy traffic since I had to spend quite a bit of time not paying attention to what is in front of me.
Get the convex mirror. You will not regret it.
I don't know about you but I use my side mirrors to see what is next to me not behind me. I use my rearview mirror to see what is behind me. Are we talking about the same problem? I guess everyone has their own opinion and driving habits. Use what you are comfortable with. Field of vision is important to me and I use my right side mirror to see what is to the right of me, rear view to see what is behind me and left side mirror to see what is left of me...this will give you the largest field of vision with the 3 mirrors. I try not to over lap much with the 3 mirrors.

I've got the UK mirror on the left side and one of those ghetto huge, convex mirrors as a rearview. The combination means I never have to adjust from flat to convex distortions and I can see absolutely everything around me--top up or down.
