Is there anything to do to help the top up blind spot?

I purchased that little sticky convex mirror which allows me to simply move my eyes for a split second without moving my head or body.
No intention of being a flame, billy. Just my opinion, and I'm glad to hear your mirror technique works for you. By the way, you are correct concerning the motorcycle mirror trick. I rode for many years and used that same technique.

So simply check the faq!

Hmmm...the first way I learned it was to cycle through checking every mirror all the time so that when you decide to switch lanes (or are forced into it under emergency conditions), you already know whether or not it's clear...
Still, it's nice having lots of convex mirrors around just in case you make a mistake.

...which is another "action" response which takes your focus off the road, in my experience. I attempted that move many times, but discovered it took my attention away from the road. Even though that move takes a couple of seconds or so, the distraction was innerving for me in high speed traffic.

I guess most of you people just don't get it. The drivers side mirror does not adjust far enough out too see what is beside you. Hence, the blind spot. IF THE MIRROR DID ADJUST FAR ENOUGH OUT TO SEE WHAT WAS BESIDE ME THERE WOULD BE NO BLIND SPOT! Maybe you people that can see what is to the right of your car in your side view mirror are much shorter than me. If you are, like I explained earlier, the mirror is closer to you and you have a much wider angle of view. Try moving your seat all the way back, then recline it all the way back. THEN try to use the mirror. You will see what I am talking about.
And, yes, I do know how use the mirrors in my car.

I'm 6-4 and have the seat all the way back (naturally) and without my ghetto convex 2-inch mirror, there would be a major blind spot on the driver's side. Another great use for 'em is the spare I keep in the bin adjacent to the cup holder. When I'm the first one under a light, I grab that little mirror...hold it upright around knee level and without bending my head, I can see the lights in the little mirror. A $1.99 alternative to chiropractor visits. I use this method 4-6x/week. Us big guys need to be creative.
Hey Russ............."awesome car except for those tacky round 1.5-inch $1.50 side mirrors."
just kidding...............myself, I bought the Muz convex part and with it you can see everything, everywhere with just a glance.................

First off, I don't believe there is a blind spot. I do not turn my head to see what is back there and if the mirrors are adjusted pointing out far enough I can see everything. I also drive a truck and a motorcycle, and turning my head to look is not how I drive either of them.
I do not like the full convex mirror option on the driver's side because I'm not comfortable with the distortion of distance, when I look in that mirror I want to understand where that car is immediately.
I don't think the small round convex spot mirror addition is tacky, I believe it is wonderful because it adds another level of functionality to the mirror - both wide angle and accurate distance.
To each his own. You have to experiment to find what is best for you.
