i think the coupe looks kinda janktafied (real word, ok, maybe not). The lines are just not right, whereas the lines on the exisiting s2000 are very nice. Even though this potential model is rumored to be a 2.2L car, I still think there is something that comes along with the car being a convertible. doesn't it look like a hatchback? is it? the rear of the coupe just does not look attractive. Obviously, these are my own opinions.

If this materializes, it will be a huge disappointment.

20 more ft-lbs in torque, same weight and a rumor of all-wheel drive (not likely though)? I'll consider that over my convertible ... or just trade my wife's Subaru for it

I had a brief but interesting conversation with someone at the L.A. auto show, not from Honda but he mentioned the same rumor of a 2.2L coupe. I'm guessing that it'll have the i-VTEC motor in order to benefit from torque and high rpm power. Will it still retain a 9k redline, don't know but I'd hope so. My guess is power output will be close to 280.

"Two rumours don't make a fact."

I assure it's no rumor. Matter of fact, it will release in Japan late 2003 or early 2004.

Since my last post I've read elsewhere the S is getting a coupe-like arrangement for 2004..... my question is: why?

buy a hard top, if that's what you want..... like I said: booooo!

It's like the Viper, why did they change it? the new one sucks compared to the old one..... not that it sucks altogether, just comparatively.....
