Is there a proper order for modding?
For those of you who mod your S2k's, do you think there's a proper order in how it gets done?
I've always thought it looks funky when an otherwise stock S2k is sporting a CF trunk or hood... or a big giant wing. I dunno... I just think it sticks out like a sore thumb.
What about body work on stock wheels?
What about big wheels on stock suspension?
Gauges with a stock engine?
I've always had some sort of internal order in MY head that aligns with my priorities, so I was just wondering if anyone else did too. Am I the only one who stays up at night thinking about stuff like this?
Wheels/suspension first.
Interestingly enough, I did exhaust first. I was hauling around on a LIFTED S2000 (so much weight taken out) on bald tires (even MORE fender/wheel gap) and stock wheels. The T1R sure sounded nice though!

Depends on why you got the car. If you want to be an lamer, go with ICE mods...
The S2k is a driver's car though, not a home-theatre on wheels.
I would recommend the first mod be for the driver - that is driving school and some track time. Learn your car and it's dynamics before you change things.
Once modding begins, Tires -> suspension -> wheels -> brakes -> powertrain
That's the order I see it in, I'm sure some people may beg to differ

People upgrade without getting the full potential of the car first. I think that's a big problem. I notice that with motorcycles. People get a small bike to start on and once they get a couple of miles on them, they want to trade up. It is only when you "outgrow" (Their words, not mine. What they should mean is "get comfortable") the bike you are able to extract its full potential.
But it's their car and they can do whatever they want to it. Modding is addictive and a fun conversation.

I did:
wheels first
exhaust second
stereo third (becuase I couldn't hear it over the exhaust)
ricks "s" badges front/back and steering wheel
K&N FIPK intake
then a bunch of interior mods (hardwired x50 radar, ricks leather console cover, radio door, voodoo shift knob, etc...
My best "free" mods were to tighten the throttle cable and to disable the ebrake sensor to put the top up/down while on the move. If you're going under 20 mph or so you can safely put up the top if it's raining or lower the top while leaving a parking space or rolling up on a stop light.

I did Stereo -> Suspension -> Wheels/Tires.
Stereo is A MUST for me. Having a great sound system with the top down is a part of the driving experience for me. Of course, some "purists" may differ but I really don't give a flying ****.

I don't think I'm going to touch mine for a while, but when I mod I will begin with something to get me a little more low end and midrange grunt, like a good header. Then Intake, and possibly AEM EMS if they come out for the 06 models. I would consider the Hondata reflash, but the problem is that if I did that first, then got a header, I would have to pay an extra $200 to upgrade the reflash to get the most out of the header.
