stereotype for S2k drivers? Yeah, usually well endowed studs/good looking types. Yeah I guess I fall into that stereotype..... who else?

j/k
Usually around here in Houston there are all types of people driving them. I've seen highschoolers in them, but mostly older guys in their early 30s or late 20s (like me). And most of them are real nice and wave

all generalizations are false and everybody is a stereotype.

What gets me is the crap I get from people who can't believe I bought a $30,000 car. Mind you this is always from the suvis owners who leased their $45,000 monsters.

I love my car but just to break the rock climber, hard rock stereotype I think the most exercise I get is pushing the little red doohickey to start the car (guess I ain't a gear head either) and my favorite singer is Nanci Griffith (folk music). At 34 I am definitely on my way to becoming a grumpy old man.

A grumpy old man with a fast car that spends as much time as possible at the red line. I think the one thing that is stereotypical of S 2000 owners is they REALLY love their cars. Man do I love my car.

Ohh! One more thing to break the mold. My S is my ONLY car and yes I drive it in the winter. I have had it since May '03 and I am almost up to 9000 miles on the odometer. I guess I don't drive as much as I should.

I read one person that said the S is an "engineering marvel"... I love the car, but wouldn't consider it a marvel.

The reason i said that was mainly what teh car offers, one of them being the most horse power per liter, compared to the price. I guess you could say marvel would be the golden gate bridge etc, but at the very least something to be impressed about.

It is an engineering marvel... It's one of the most powerful four cylinder engine ever to be mass produced that doesn't require forced induction... The closest one that comes near it would be the Type S... (I believe... Not sure)

The kids probably stereotype me when they pass this greying, 40s, white male in a totally stock S that won't take the bait and race their hybrid Civic.

But they might be surprised that I've autocrossed the car at close to 20 events in the 7 months that I've driven it. (Finished 3rd at SCCA NEDiv)
