Default are these "launching" posts year specific?

I always search forums and always come across new stuff, and i was looking tonight and was reading a lot about the right way to launch your car, what rpms and such.. And Im slightly confused.. Do newer cars have traction control or something?? because ill tell u what, if i drop my clutch at 7k rpm's lol ill be smoking tires through 3rd gear! It takes some skill to launch this car, feather the clutch and throttle perfectly and i can smoke a lot of cars from a light. But im definitely not dropping my foot off the clutch at 7k!!
By the way my car is an 02

6k used to work best for mine, depends on temperature, tires, road surface etc.

I don't plan on "launching" my car hard on a regular basis. That said, I have tried I a couple of times and I will admit that I am terrible at it. I understand that the diff is a weak link on the car, so I don't plan on practicing that much.

My car is supposed to have an upgraded diff or housing or somthing like that. I mean I rarely launch it. But I definitiley have to work the clutch to ge this car to leave a light pretty fast. Its either too low of rpms and it bpgs. But if i keep it around 6500 rpms and work the clutch so i dont spin the tires too much, then let it catch traction and should be around 6500 rpms, its a pretty fast car from a stop!

whats less cruel on the diff side stepping or feathering? I guess feathering would be easier on the diff but harsh on the clutch right?

I have flashpro and found that launching at 3.5k on the street is the best. A little tire spin but not so much that I'm just sitting there burning rubber. Anything above 4K+ and im just burning rubber not going anywhere.
