Are they tailgating, or am I imagining things?

Default Are they tailgating, or am I imagining things?

I'm used to driving cars bigger than the S2000 so I think its just me. But more and more recently I feel like people are tailgating me, and much more frequently than before I feel like people are trying to park in my car's trunk when pulling up to a red light or stopped traffic.

It happened this morning again on the way to work, and I threw up my hands in the air like "wtf" to the guy in back as we slowed, and he had the nerve to do the same thing to me as if it was *me* doing something wrong. Then I start thinking that the problem may in fact be in my head, and I'm literally sitting a few feet from the rear bumper and that the S2000 is just a very short short and small car so everything else may just appear closer and bigger.

Oooorrrr... the car is so damn sexy that everyone needs to get a closer look at that ass?

I have the same issue when on my motorcycle, after a while that feeling goes away (or they hit you from behind, making it worse).

Its not just you man i have this happen to me all the time , used to really get to me now im learning to just deal with it i guess. Ive come to the conclusion its a combo of such a small rear portion of the car plus most other cars can see right over and past the S2k which makes it easier to tailgate. And people are a-holes. Thats my explantion.

^ I agree with the above poster. I always leave a greater following distance with larger cars that I cant see around, or ones with dark tinted rear windshields. The S2k is not one of those cars...

It's the opposite here. People see my car and keep their distance thinking it's insanely expensive.

Do a gentle slalom in your lane and you'll notice people will back off. That or a spontaneous brake check does the job quite well.
