if the adhesive completely breaks metal-metal contact it will hurt your signal quite a bit, but if adhesive doesnt stop the wire from being continuously in contact it shouldnt matter. i havent looked at it, but if you keep adhesive on the plastic and off the metal as much as possible you'll be fine.

Does locktite interfere with the signal at all?
I've used blue Loctite on mine and no issues with reception.

When i bought my s2k i thought the antenna looked funny, and i compared it with my brothers EVO, and it didn't look any smaller so i wasn't sure why people would steal them. Then at a local s2k meet i noticed mines not even close to stock, its almost twice as long! At least someone switched it rather than stealing it.

The person who "stole" my antenna didn't even bother unscrewing it. They simply pulled so hard they ripped the plastic off of the inner spring surface. Then proceeded to scratch my trunk and fender with it.

Consider yourself lucky for ONLY having it stolen. I'd have to pay a lot more than $16 to get my car back to normal.

Gotta watch out for thre 350z owners too....my friend bought a new one, didn't like the antenna and one day when we were at the mall, we came out and there was an 04-05 s2k parked next to him. He tried to steal the antenna with out me noticing and i literally made him put it back and called him a scumbag. It's not our fault other car companies cant make a good antenna! Also, my friend with a GTI bought an s2k antenna off ebay haha....i guess they are nice antennas.
Good for you on calling out your friend!

Don't use glue. If they try hard they will damage the whole foundation.

I've got a Passat antenna on mine because my favorite radio station was JUST out of range. I tried the Passat antenna and it works. My next try was going to be one a little longer which I think came came off of my old 318ti.
