Thinking about the alternatives
the prospect of one of those is also nice, but if i were to go the 4 seater route i would definitely want something RWD. The only thing I could think of would be one of the original IS300s. And thats cause they are cheaper to buy and maintain than a 3 series, and even then its not quite the same driving experience.
Dont get me wrong though. I am a HUGE Honda fan, constantly in scuffs with my buddy who is a Z loyalist. If i was to go FWD I'd also say something like a 06-08 Fit but even those are above the price range I'm looking for.
Is there anyone else out there who owns 2 S2000s btw?

i once thought about this before winter hit, a guy here locally was selling a suzuka ap1 that had a salvage title for pretty cheap, and i thought, hey wouldn't it be fun to have a winter and summer S? Luckily it was all just a thought, and i've saved that money and continue to use my FG1 civic as my winter car and in the summer as a car that i need when i've got more passengers or a bigger cargo to carry. 2 s2000's would definately not work out the best for me, especially in winter when i would have to haul around my hockey bag and other things like that.
I have to admit that I've never thought about weather as a factor for my purchase, but i have no intentions of going anywhere that far north anyway.
The worst weather I get here in Vegas is just rain from time to time.

i say just drive the s u currently have until it breaks, if ur serious u want a show quality type car in the future, i'm pretty sure there will be some primo CRs in pristine condition with very little if any miles you can buy years down the line if that's the type quality maintained s2k u want.
is your 2007 paid off, if not finish paying that off first, enjoy ur S, drive it, track it, mod it or not.
In the mean time save those 10g's for, maybe u'll get tired of the same S and u'll want to add a turbo or a hardtop in the future, u'll have ur 10g's.
but in the end, it's ur call. what ever floats ur boat.
be happy, don't worry.

I did kinda figure that there will always be people out there keeping garage queens only to sell them in the future, but the lure for me doing that to my own car is the fact that Ive had it from the beginning and I know how its been cared for.
One alternative that would make me just as happy and that i didn't think about until that last post was just driving the crap out of my car thus making it the beater and waiting to take ownership of someone else's garage queen, like a CR. (TOTALLY forgot about the CR)

The only downside i can think of to getting a garage queen later on down the road instead of opting for a beater right now is the fact that whoever does keep one prestine is obviously doing so for the right to charge a premium on the price. This would put a huge kink on my plans to later obtain an NSX
