I am here sitting in my house thinking of the possibilities with a 10k budget. My 07 S2000 has just gone past the 25k mark on the clock. It's being used daily and I'm looking a year into the future. Thinking about all of the practical and possible alternatives to daily drive I keep coming back to the idea of another S2000. With plenty of AP1s to be had below the 10k mark I am seriously considering the possibility. The idea of having an S I am not afriad to work on. One that doesn't still have a warrenty on it. One which would be a fun fix even if something did go wrong and that I could drive as hard as I want while nuturing and keeping the other prestine. What I can't decide on is to go that route or use the 10k on the car I have right now. I am very conflicted. If anyone else gas posted a similar internal struggle please just link me. Buy I would love to know the thoughts of other S2000 owners on this.

keep the ten grand and beat the hell out of your current car. i would not buy another s2000 to keep one as a garage queen...

 

So, wait, you want to get another car to keep miles off your 07?

 

I know it sounds obsurd. Alternatives I was thinking of were things like 2002 IS300s and the like... But if I had a choice I think I might just like another s2000.

 

Well, your car will be out of warranty soon enough, and nothings stopping you from working on it now. Personally I'd just keep the 07 and my money and have at it - you're not going to gain anything by garaging the 07 now.

It's not that I want the car to be pretine for the purposes of selling it later on. I don't let go of cars, especially ones I love as much as this one. The treatment of said cars is more a reflection of my personality and inability to reconsile between all out and farce queen. I fully understand this yet it still sounds like a great idea.

 

Do you have any other vehicle? 2 S2000s is not very practical. When my parents came into town, me and my girlfriend BOTH had to drive them to wherever we were going.

 

My sister lets me barrow her car form time to time (Hyundai elantra) and I have family here in the valley that also lets me barrow their Prius to haul around more than one person when i need too in a pinch. So while i don't have another car ALL of the time I do have other cars regularly available to me if necessary.


(practicality has never been high on my list for what a car can do. I don't give many rides and I've never found myself transporting anything so large that it wouldn't either fit in the trunk or that i didn't have my friend with a corolla with me)

I also never figured I would need anything more practical than a 2 door sports car till I'm 30

 

buy the 2 ... if it makes you happy... one for daily drive and the other por weekend winding road and track day or the dd and track whore and the garage queen....
