Default Thinking About getting into an s2000

Hi
Im New on this board and thinking of getting rid of bmw for an s2000.
My car is a maintenance queen and costs are pretty expensive especially when im trying to cut back so I can put some money towards my upcoming business.
Basically the car will be A daily driver in NYC.
I dont travel more then 10 miles anyway.
Most of the time im carrying my brother to and back from school so no carpooling etc.
Just wanted to know some of your opinions and what decision I should make.
If I were to buy an s2000 I would be looking at an ap2 and turboing it.
So how is the car on maintenance + reliability aswell as comfort.

I came from an M3. Picking up my 08 this weekend. BMW treated me good, but after the 50k maintenance expired, had to part ways

I sold my BMW Z4 to get my first S2000. The upkeep costs on the BMW were killing me. Costs on my 2 S2000 have been minimal. Very pleased with the switch.

Now as a DD in NY, that might be difficult and with all the traffic and streets, you may never experience the joys of curvy roads and VTECH.

I drove a z4 for a while, there were some good things about it but most were pretty shockingly bad. It drove heavy, but the brakes, audio system and adjustable seat were great.

I'm on my 2nd s2 now... Couldn't stay away

In NY I would consider something automatic rather.

I sold my BMW like the people above me and the cost of owning an s2000 is a bit cheaper than a BMW. It's the little things on BMW's that cost a ton to fix. Nice 5 series.

Depends on where you garage and park it. These cars seem to be targets.
Off the top of my head, I'd say no, but it may depend on how bad you want the S and the park/garage specifics.
