Thinking about selling 04' S2k for a 370z. Thoughts?
Ever since I've driven a 370z I was not too impressed with it and didn't think anything of it but now I'm starting to like it more and more. I like that it has torque, besides the weight it can outperform the s2k and overall be a better all around weekend car. But am I making a mistake if I do? To those that have both or driven both, what are your thoughts? Thank you.
I haven't driven one, but sat in a NISMO 370 a few months back while my Altima was getting an oil change. I'd be terrified to drive that car on the street. Seemed to be WAY too many blind spots for comfort. Also, I love the "freedom" of my convertible
The 370 felt very claustrophobic to me...
For that price tag too, you have more options out there.
Far fewer S2k's out there than 370's too...

I wanted to like the 370Z and test drove it a few times but it just never felt exciting. Really didn't like the motor. Sure it has more torque than S2000 but still didn't have much down low. Up top it didn't have a lot either. Just felt boring. I thought of getting one and boosting it but blind spots did suck on it. I wound up with a new 5.0 with performance pack and very happy with it. Destroys the 370Z's performance and same price.
Approx a yr ago I almost sold my s and bought a nismo 370. I drove it and liked it more power and torque than a s2k. However it does have poor visibility and it felt heavy. I liked it but didn't love it. What I realized when driving it was that I really wanted a gtr and the Z was kinda like a temp fix. In the end I passed on the Z, boosted the hell out of my s2k and haven't looked back!
I was also in this boat until I really drove a 370Z. I just didn't think it was fun.
I added FI as well, and see just no good reason. The level of involvement between the two is not even comparable.
My current DD is a 135i DCT. It's great...better than the Z...but I still like my S2K more.
Then, from a financial perspective...the S2K is practically done with depreciation, and will cost you little to own. A 370Z will fall quite a bit more.

I'm in the same dilemma, thinking about selling my 07 S2K for a 09 ((&.2 Porsche Carrera 2S. My buddy has a Porsche Turbo, but kind of out of my price range. The S2K is a great car, but at my age of 63, thinking about getting something more dignified for my age.....(Hope that didn't come over wrong....)

I'm 59 and have had an S2000 for about 9 years. I plan on keeping my '07 forever.....while I like the looks of a Porsche, an S2000 is actually a much rarer car and way cheaper to own and maintain......and since they're not made any more, there's never any pressure to "uppgrade" to a newer one!
The S2000 is a track car nearly out of the box. The 370z isn't -- Google "370z heat issues" to see why. At my last track day, a 370z went into a safety disable mode after 15 minutes and barely made it back to the pits.
I agree that the 370 feels faster in a straight line and I'd also say that the cockpit of the 370 gives it more of a modern, sleek, racecar feel than the s. They're both great cars, and both fun to drive, but personally, there is no way I'd trade the s2000 for a z. If you really think you need more power, add a supercharger.
