Thinking about trading my S2K after only 2 months????????
Well, I am beginning to think I made the wrong decision in buying my S2k!!
I have had it about 2 and a half months. I have never been spanked so much in 2 and a half months in my life.
Of course everyone wants to race and I am getting blown away almost every time.
I realize that the S2k is a high rev car and that I would probably do good in a 0 to 100 race but that kind of racing almost never happens in the middle of the city on the spur of the moment. It is more like, light to light racing and I am getting killed.
This is a few of the cars that I have been blown away by: an IS300, Audi A4 1.8T, around a 1990 firebird and a freaking Mazda Mx6.
Now I know everyone is going to say it is the driving and I must be the worst driver in the world and such but that is really not it. I have had sports cars all my life and I am a good driver and a good shifter. I am not holding it wide open and dropping the clutch but I am pushing it pretty hard. If you have to tear the clutch out to get a launch it is not worth it.
Ok, enough complaining. I am just wondering if anyone else is or has felt this way??
PS - The S2k board is one of the coolest I have ever been on.

I run pretty even with my friends newer V8 Camaro! I have a friend with an 95 or 96 Ford Probe GT and he can not keep up. What RPM's are you launching at and are you dropping the clutch or slipping it. How much wheel spin are you getting off of the line.

guys guys guys.... The S2000 is not a race car, it's a drivers car... if you bought it SOLELY to race on the street, then a) give the car to me and then b) go buy yourself a top fuel dragster and TAKE IT TO THE TRACK!!! where this sh*t belongs
The S2000 is meant for drivers to have the top down, a twisty mountain road ahead of them and no other people for miles around, so they can just blast down that mountain road and feel the car and them become one, become the TRUE ultimate driving machine. It is NOT and never WAS designed for straight line acceleration (well, I'll bend on that point, it IS a sports car, but no McLaren) and it is meant to be DRIVEN. Driving usually involves taking corners, if you're an expert driver then maybe, MAYBE a few drift turns.
Then again, I don't own one, so what the hell do I know

OK my Sisters Boyfriends Brother (if that wasn't long enough) this week alone barely beat a S2K. Now he drives a Stang thats Pure engine (No NAS, No kit Nothing except i beleive it's the Old 5.0 Stang).... the S2K on the other hand had a kit in it.. The guy said he went straight from the dealer to get the kit. Goes to show you thats it's not so much about how u drive it... it's what u got under the hood. U don't know if those cars u are driving up against have a little more jump in their step.

Your right. I do think the Mx6 could have had something else under the hood because he really killed me. The bad part is I know for sure that the Audi A4 1.8T is stock all the way. I ran with him 3 times and he took me every time!!!!!!

My guess is that you are shifting to soon. The S2000 doesn't really begin to reveal itself until about 7500 or 8000 RPM's. If you are shifting sooner than that, then that's why your getting beat. The car was designed to be driven in that range, so use it. I've taken many of Mustang's off the line (Except Cobra), so Good Luck!
