Thinking of purchasing a yellow S..
I was looking for a black S2000 when I was shopping. My last two cars were black Integras and I just figured muself a black-car kinda guy.
Then I saw the yellow S2000 under the lights in the dealership and fell in love. Now I can't imagine having any other color. Except possibly Laguna Blue.
Yellow is brighter and more attention-getting than red or white. (How it can be brighter than white, I'm not sure, but it is, so there.) The number of people jumping out in front of me at intersection has dropped by half since I got the car.
Having a car as attractive as an S2000 in a color as bright as yellow will skew your perception of other vehicles. Other colors become more bland. Other car models become tasteless, formless lumps that all blend together into an ocean of metallic beige and the only thing that stands out in the sea of sameness is your car. (And that yellow FJ Cruiser in the other lane. Here's a head-nod for your choice of color, dude.)
Even another S2000, with all the same options you have, in a common color like silver seems to be...missing something.
Yea, I really like my Rio Yellow.

honestly, when it was time for me to buy my S, my 1st choice was GPW ( i
white cars) but in 05 they only had the tan interior..i really luv the red/white combo. so rio was actually my 2nd choice..as time went..yellow grew on me.
it will attract attention good and bad; and on a S, yellow looks good than some other cars. I really like the pearl and the metal flakes when the sun hits it. Im proud to drive one..and where im at, they're not a dime a dozen...so i say go for it!
Rio FTW

Yellow was not my 1st choice, but they had one when I went to get mine and I fell in love with it. This is a car that is meant to stand out. Plus the Rio yellow is really nice (compared to other yellow cars on the road) it has a little bit of a white pearl under it that is noticeable in the light. Go for it, you will not regret it. The "novelty" of a yellow car has not worn off for me, not even a bit.
I had a yellow Vette with a black roof panel for about three years. Same color combo as the S2000, Bumblebee. I never got tired of the color. I had intended to buy a yellow S2000 when I went shopping back in May. There aren't many cars that can pull off yellow but the S2000 is one of them. Aside from the visual excitement, I thought yellow would make a small car more visible and maybe a bit safer. I ended up with an 08 Chicane Silver (chickened out) because I thought it looked more sophisticated and suited the high tech nature of the car. But silver is probably the worst color for visibility. I don't regret my choice but there's no doubt that yellow will catch the eye more quickly.
I'm 50 years old, and don't feel like a rice boy at all in my yellow '06.
Actually, I may not have bought the S2000 at all if it didn't come in yellow (well, I guess I probably would have gone with red). The S2000 is a pure "fun" car (duh...). It's a pure enthusiast's car (it's one of the few cars on the market that comes only with a standard transmission). Why not get it in a color that also says 'pure fun'?
For me, the yellow has not worn off at all. To the contrary, every time I drive it, I feel great about my choice of color. Yes, as others have said, more people will notice you in yellow, simply because there aren't that many yellow cars on the road. But, so what? Buy what you like, not what anyone else thinks.
I absolutely love my yellow S2000. The only thing I might replace it with someday is another yellow S2000.

Yellow is a great color, I ultimately went with it as well. My first choice was the Imola Orange, but I wasn't about to pay Canadian pricing for a S2000. So it came down to either yellow or white. I went with yellow because I wanted white with red interior and they don't make them that way for MY06.
Rio yellow is in my opinion the best honda yellow out there. It's even better than ITR's Phoenix Yellow.
Also its easy to find yellow cars in a parking lot lol

i like yellow, had the dealership had yellow available at the time of my purchase i would have picked that over red. besides yellow's been around for a while, i dont think its a color that will fade off fashion anytime soon... almost kinda like getting a red sports car where it kinda doesnt go out of style... course this is jus tmy opinion

My only concern/fear is that the novelty of such an obnoxious (for lack of better word) car will wear off, and ill feel like a 16 y/o ricer kid driving it around. Are there times where any of you guys feel like that, or is the color something that grows on you and keeps you happy?
As for how you'll respond -- there's no telling. If you think yellow as a "novelty" then you should probably stick to a safer color. For me, it's generally pretty clear what color(s) I want and don't want.
