is it normal that the part of the spoiler facing the rear window is not flat on the trunk? the part right about the taillight is flat but on the opposite side of that it seems to be a little bit off the trunk. I bought my spoiler used, was it suppose to come with double sided tape?

You may want to see if the bolt under the trunk lid is secure.

Or add another one or two.

On a side note.

The rubber "gasket" that fits between the spoiler and the trunk lid is sticking out of the side of the spoiler. Like it melted, leaked out, and then dried again.

Kinda strange.

I know that this is a strange question, but what color is your car? I've noticed that after my car (black) sits in the hot sun all day, the rear spoiler actually lifts up a bit on the very inside edge that you are describing. You can actually see a gap. Sometimes leaves even get half-way trapped under the spoiler. If I remove them when the trunk/spoiler is still hot, they slide right out. If I leave them until it cools, then they actually become stuck under the spoiler, because the "gap" between the spoiler and trunk "closes up" and becomes flush. It's kinda wierd, but it always happens...

Hmmm. . .does not seem normal. I've never noticed anything like that before with my spoiler. I'm not discounting that it happens, just never noticed it if it did.

I installed mine a year ago and I don't really remember the spoiler having a double stick tape, just 4 bolts that I had to drill.

You might want to check what year that spoiler came from. MY2000 trunks and MY2002+ do not have the same exact shape. MY2002+ has a curvier shape. Do a search to see. I remeber there being a side by side photo of the two showing the difference.

The trunk should be the same. The brake light on the trunk was changed on 02's.
