I've got a Chamberlain keychain remote and it works with homelink devices. I've got a lamp wired to a homelink access point. So I can open the garage door and turn on the lights before I get in. Picked it up at Home Depot for $30

Yes, but they won't work with certain non-rolling-code openers, such as the one in my community's gate (made by some German company whose products don't play nicely with anyone else's.)
