Default To those of you who have shipped blocks

Hi,
I'm buying a block from a member on here and we are having a hard time trying to find someone to ship it for us. It's just a short block with accessories so not sure of the exact weight but I'd guess somewhere around the 150 range. So to anyone thats shipped a block to someone what company did you use and whats a ballpark price to expect? Just lookin for a little help is all. Thanks

I got a short block in the mail. It was shipped with UPS. You don't have to tell them what is in the box. Wrap it well with plastic (so it doesn't leak) and styrofoam. It's probably ~$60 to ship?

I shipped a diff for under $100.

I shipped my D16Y8 head with manifolds and such by throwing them each in a separate thick plastic bag, then into a cardboard box, filling the box with peanuts and wrapping the box in duct tap.

Cost me around $75 to ship even though it weighed 100lbs+.

did the same with the tranny.

I shipped an ls bottom end w/goodies in a box through fedex ground.

I packed the hell out of it......layers of bags and paper etc...just to make sure it didnt leak.

I just bought a tv or something at the time, so I had no nice heavyduty styrofoam that it put in there to keep the motor stable.

Long story short, it made it from vegas to virginia in one piece with no leaks or breaks in the box

get them to pack it, that way if its dropped during shipping and something cracks/breaks (had this happen with a cylinder head once) they'll have to pay for it (be sure you get insurance on it).
