Thoughts on the OEM Titanium Shift knob?

I'm also thinking of this mod. Question: Does the knob get hot enough to burn skin when the car is left out in the sun?
A Titanium one shouldn't be nearly as bad. Titanium transfers heat/cold much better than steel or aluminum. My Titanium watch never feels cold in winter the way a stainless steel watch would when you first put it on.
Now that summer is here, I throw a baseball hat over the Voodoo knob when I get out of the car. That keeps it below the too hot to handle level.

Not true at all, Ti is a lousy conductor of heat, in fact it's an insulator. Ti gets hot and stays that way. There is a good reason computer manufacturers use metals like Cu, and Al in heatsinks and not Ti. For comparison, Ti has a thermal conductivity of .210 W/cmK @ 20 degrees celsius. Al is 2.37 W/cmK. One of the reasons Diamonds are called ice, is because they have such an incredibly high thermal conductivity, those feel cold to the touch since they pull the heat away from your body, they rate at 20-25 W/cmK.
I have an 01 Ti shift knob only because it came with my used S. I really don't consider it a deal breaker one way or the other. But my wife's pleather/aluminum shifter in the Prot5 is worse temp wise to start with, but my Ti takes longer to cool off after the A/C is going.
Honestly, any knob is going to get damnedable hot sitting in the sun and if this is a concern use the hat trick or windsheild sun blockers. Get the knob you think looks best since I feel the shifter knob is pretty secondary to EVERYTHING else when it comes to shift feel.
