Default Was this a threat by a cop~?

Recently i got pulled over for speeding. My top was down and he pulls right next to me on his bike. He told me i'd better pull over or he was gonna shoot me. Seriously that was what he said!
So of course i did. He ended up giving me a ticket for doing 63 in a 35 zone since he had me on radar.
Was what he said to me considered a threat?

Yes, I believe that is called "assault" (of the famed "assault and battery" charges). Proving the officer did that is something else entirely. Unless you tape / video recorded the occurance, or have a witness you don't standa chance of doing anything legally.

Yes, that is a threat, but you need to consider your options carefully. You can do nothing and just let it go, which is your cheapest and easiest route. You can file a complaint against the cop. If there are other complaints, they can result in an internal investigation into the guy. Sometimes, it results in an actual reprimand, sometimes you just don't know what happens. But if you live near the cop, he might harass you every time he sees you and pull you over for every little thing you do wrong.

Yes, it's consider assault and considering he has a weapon it could be considered assault with intent. Serious charge! The only thing is you'd have to be able to prove it in a court of law.

Yeah, and we all know how much judges believe the average citizen over a power-hungry cop.

consider your options:
check your rear-view mirror
tug steering wheel sharply to the left
proceed to carwash...

On the other hand, fleeing from a cop is a crime, and it sounds like he thought you were trying to run from him. It also sounds like you were on residential streets (35mph), doing over 60mph, which endangers the lives of any kids or other pedestrians that might be around.

I don't defend the police much, but I might side with him this time.
