I took about 1/2 the slack out of the cable and then checked that the pedal was bottoming out (just slightly) on the floor biscuit. That way you get better throttle response but won't bend the linkage or throttle plate.

Hi I am no pro at this but some of the guys in the club said mine was loose so I took it to the dealer and they adjusted it, they said they but it on a volt meter, nmoe my is a 05 which is not a drive by wire, so I do not know what they done, but the cable is tight with better response.
