It sounds like the clutch delay valve is more of an issue than the drive by wire throttle.
Is it an easy mod to remove the nannying clutch valve?

The CDV isn't really the issue, some people just think it is.

Can you still bang the clutch in and out as quickly as on cars without the CDV? And have it engage as quickly?
For, say, trackday use.

I drove my MY00 AP1 and a MY08 CR back-to-back at an autocross - and I couldn't feel any difference in throttle operation.

Driving an AP1 and AP2 back-to-back, I noticed a huge difference with the AP2's CDV and heavier flywheel. Removing the CDV is free and relatively easy, putting in a new flywheel will take some time/effort/money.

I drove an 06 back-to-back with my 05 at autocross and felt a difference. The throttle response for pre-06 is noticeably more responsive... with DBW there seems to be a bit of a lag from putting the right foot down to propulsion. For spirited/racing situations I would definitely prefer cable. Under normal driving conditions though, I am pretty sure it would be hardly an issue.
i felt that slight lag too driving both models

hey, if you have an exhaust or an intake try this, go about 3000-3500 rpm in third or forth gear. and smash down on the gas to the floor. when i do this, i can hear the pedal drop before i hear the exhaust change notes. hope this makes sense, but i have the my06 and yeah i can tell. haven't tried it while the vsa is off, dont know if that will effect anything.

the heavy flywheel is much more of an issue to me than throttle delay.

'05 to '08, no difference detected. Just as it should be.

For the people that are saying no difference in DBW or cable,
is this experience based on track/autox or daily driving?
